The BRK (Bavarian Red Cross) in Landsberg, Bavaria, Germany, recently issued a notice that due to a change in waste disposal service providers, several local BRK used clothing collection containers (Altkleidercontainer) will be suspended until the end of August. The new service provider will take over regular collection starting September 1, 2026; until then, residents are asked not to deposit old clothes in these containers. According to statistics, BRK has set up free-to-use collection containers at multiple locations in the district, but they cannot be emptied before the new provider takes over. BRK urges the public not to use these containers before August 31 and not to pile old clothes next to them, to avoid pollution and disruption of subsequent normal recycling. Previously, improper dumping had forced it to remove some sites. Meanwhile, residents can continue to donate better-quality old clothes at the BRK second-hand clothing stores (Kleiderläden) in Landsberg and Dießen, limited to 20 items per person. BRK apologizes for the inconvenience caused.
