Recently, a special Fujian Province "industry-research integration" scientific and technological achievement matchmaking event was held in Jinjiang. Organized by the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the event focused on the upgrading needs of the textile and footwear industry. Yan Linping, Vice President of Donghua University, and Zhang Yunfeng, Vice President of the Fujian Institute of Innovation, attended and delivered speeches. Representatives from universities and enterprises exchanged views on a number of cutting-edge technologies in textile materials, functional fibers, and intelligent manufacturing.

With the theme "Industry-Research Integration · Weaving the Future," the event focused on matching Donghua University's research achievements in areas such as color and functionalized textile products, functional fiber R&D and footwear and apparel applications, AI-empowered textile and garment production, knitted intelligent sensing fabrics, and long-lasting antibacterial textiles. The university stated that it will use Jinjiang as a base to promote the landing of scientific and technological talent and research platforms in Fujian, serving high-end and green transformation. In his speech, Zhang Yunfeng noted that Jinjiang, as the birthplace of the "Jinjiang Experience" and a core area of Fujian Province's "555X" industrial cluster, has a long-standing cooperative foundation with Donghua University, and he looked forward to establishing a normalized industry-university-research collaboration mechanism.

The event featured achievement display and enterprise demand exhibition areas, with a number of footwear and apparel new material enterprises attending for matchmaking. During the presentation session, the Donghua University team introduced R&D progress across the four dimensions of "technology, fashion, green, and health," with a focus on analyzing textile technology innovation paths among common industry issues.

This matchmaking event is one of Fujian's measures to advance the integration of technology and industry. Jinjiang will continue to rely on the disciplinary advantages of universities to promote the upgrading of existing footwear and apparel operations and the incubation of new growth drivers, driving the development of local distinctive clusters.
