From September 23 to 25, the 7th China Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair (Liaoning Fair) was held at the Shenyang New World Expo, with the Tacheng region organizing a delegation to exhibit. The Tacheng exhibition area covered 216 square meters and was divided into three sections: the Xinjiang Tacheng Key Development and Opening-up Pilot Zone, Tacheng region key industries, and Liaoning-Tacheng cooperation. A total of 57 enterprises brought more than 120 kinds of specialty exhibits, covering minerals, green agricultural products, and deep processing of livestock and poultry.
During the fair, Tacheng held two special events: the Liaoning-Tacheng "Belt and Road" Industrial Collaboration and Investment Promotion Matchmaking Meeting, and the Liaoning-Tacheng Textile and Apparel Industry Matchmaking Meeting, with more than 200 enterprises and nearly 300 representatives in attendance. The former focused on investment promotion and government-enterprise matchmaking, while the latter focused on matching production and sales supply and demand in the textile and apparel sector, building a face-to-face negotiation platform for enterprises from both places.
The complementary logic between the two places lies in connecting corridors with production capacity: Liaoning has a relatively solid foundation in industrial technology and production capacity, while Tacheng relies on the Baketu Port and faces Central Asia, radiating toward Eurasia. According to the organizers, both sides hope to push Liaoning's quality products and production capacity into overseas markets through the port corridor, and continue to explore cooperation space in border trade, textiles, equipment manufacturing, and other fields, deepening Liaoning-Tacheng paired cooperation.
For the used clothing and textile and apparel trade industry, what is worth noting is that textile and apparel was listed as a separate on-site matchmaking meeting, and Tacheng's role is that of a land port corridor facing Central Asia. The activity level of such corridors has historically affected the cost and pace of Chinese textiles (including used clothing and second-hand apparel supply sources) flowing to Central Asia and more distant markets; the signal released by this matchmaking meeting is that Liaoning and Tacheng are trying to bundle Liaoning's textile production capacity with Tacheng's port radiation capacity for use.
