Vinted will update its platform terms on October 8, and continued use requires re-accepting the new agreement. According to UK media reports, the update focuses on user accounts and fee wording.
On fund management, if a user's bank information does not match Vinted Balance records, they may be required to update their bank details before withdrawing or receiving funds. In addition, if a user closes their Vinted account, the associated payment service provider may also close the corresponding balance account—meaning account closure and fund balances now carry more closely linked consequences than before.
On fee naming, the long-standing "Buyer Protection fee" will be renamed the "Vinted fee." The platform stresses this is only a terminology change, the fee calculation method is unchanged, and each step will still be clearly shown during checkout as usual.
For secondhand clothing sellers and buyers accustomed to trading on Vinted, this October terms adjustment means: after the update, active consent is required to continue using the platform; the accuracy of account details (especially bank information) becomes more critical; and while the fee name change does not affect the actual cost structure, new wording will appear on the checkout page.
The original article also mentions other October changes mostly related to the UK energy price cap, welfare debt enforcement, and the fiscal budget, with limited relevance to the secondhand clothing resale industry. As for the platform itself, peers operating Vinted channels should note the effective date of the terms and the details of balance withdrawal rules.
