From October 3 to 4, 2026, Seine-et-Marne (77), France, will see a dense round of second-hand markets and flea markets. According to local event information, about twenty municipalities will set up stalls this weekend, with stalls stretching from Lizy-sur-Ourcq in the north all the way to Seine-Port in the south. Among them, the Troc et Puces de Torcy, held on Sunday, October 4, in Torcy's old town, is already in its 45th edition, following the tradition of the first Sunday of October each year. It is organized by the local festival committee, with stalls spread along more than 5 kilometers of sidewalks, mainly concentrated around the church square and Rue de Paris, selling tableware, toys, books, and small furniture and other household idle items.
Saturday's events are mainly second-hand clothing and charity sales. The resource recycling shop in Champs-sur-Marne and the Catholic Relief Services in Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne will hold charity sales; Nanteuil-lès-Meaux will host a seamstress flea market.
Sunday's offerings are more diverse. Nonville, Chaumes-en-Brie, and La-Houssaye-en-Brie will host autumn and winter clothing markets, while Chessy and Ury will hold baby and children's item exchange markets. Collectors can pay attention to the 35th postcard and collectibles exhibition in Gretz-Armainvilliers, as well as the old and antiquarian book and flea fair in Othis, the latter covering old paper, comics, vinyl, and CDs/DVDs. Villenoy will host a music-themed flea market by Belladone Brewery, with musical instruments, records, and audio equipment as the main focus; the tailor and craft flea market in Villiers-sous-Grez is located at the edge of the Fontainebleau Forest. Seine-Port's professional flea market is set at Place Madame-de-Montesson; Lizy-sur-Ourcq will set up stalls in the city center as part of its autumn fair; Meaux's APEL ECM market and Salins's Petit Moulin market are both held indoors, suitable for going when the weather is bad.
Most markets have free entry, but vendors generally do not accept bank cards. Organizers recommend bringing cash, large bags, and comfortable shoes; parking at the Torcy site is tight, and walking from the RER A Torcy station is more convenient. Outdoor event dates may be adjusted at short notice, so it is advisable to verify with each town hall or organizer before departure. For the old clothing and second-hand circulation industry, these clothing exchange markets and charity sales led by public welfare organizations and communities are a stable channel for second-hand clothing recirculation at the European town level, and also constitute an important supplement outside the official recycling system.
