In addition to old clothing and old phones, household PET bottles can also be recycled through ECOCO smart recycling machines, located at channels including PX Mart, Xiaobei Department Store, Carrefour, and Test Rite. Nearby recycling machines can be found online. Depositing PET bottles, aluminum cans, and HDPE milk bottles earns 2 ECOCO points per item, while PP plastic cups earn 1 point per item.Redemption conditions for each channel are as follows: PX Mart — accumulate 1,000 points to redeem NT$50 PX Mart shopping credit, limited to one exchange per account per week; no minimum purchase requirement, and no change given for amounts under NT$50. A-Mart — every 300 points can be exchanged for NT$60 shopping credit, limited to 1,000 vouchers per month; in PET bottle terms, this equals 150 bottles or 15 batteries, and the credit can be applied once per purchase of NT$399 or more. For the old clothing recycling industry, bulk retail channels using shopping credit rewards to increase public willingness to recycle is becoming an important front-end entry point for secondhand clothing recycling. The trends of rising recycling volumes at retail channels and diversification of accepted categories are worth watching.
