Korean fashion e-commerce platform Musinsa (whose businesses include trendy apparel sales) has announced that it will hold the ten-day "Musinsa Used Festival" online secondhand fashion event from August 24 to September 2. This is the first large-scale promotion since its secondhand trading service "Musinsa Used" launched a year ago, aimed at expanding the secondhand trading user base and promoting a sustainable fashion ecosystem.

Musinsa Used was launched in August 2025 and adopts a C2B2C model (consumer-to-business-to-consumer). Unlike platforms such as Carrot Market and Bungee, which focus on direct transactions between buyers and sellers, sellers only need to put their clothes into a dedicated bag and leave it at their door. The Musinsa team will collect it in person and handle the entire relisting process, including cleaning, photographing, and shipping, with the platform taking a certain commission. According to Musinsa, as of July 2026, the service's transaction volume had grown about 12-fold compared with the initial launch period. This festival is based on that growth momentum, giving back to users and improving the experience.

According to data from market research firm Business Research Insights, the global secondhand clothing market is expected to reach USD 60.78 billion in 2026 and is expected to rise to USD 227.54 billion by 2035 at a compound annual growth rate of 15.8%. Musinsa is accordingly treating secondhand trading as an important channel for attracting users with high fashion engagement. Its focus is not low-price clearance, but rather using out-of-print or limited-edition items to attract consumers seeking scarcity, thereby consolidating its position as an independent secondhand platform. The platform has also designed an ecosystem loop: sales settlement amounts are automatically credited into the "Musinsa Money" points system, which sellers can use to offset purchases of new items on the site, thereby encouraging repeat consumption.

The festival features dedicated sections under four themes: Street, Contemporary, Sports, and Encore, offering special prices and limited-time discounts from major brands and sellers, with products updated daily. Celebrity participation is also a highlight: five groups of artists, including the hip-hop group 10CM (, or the specific group name), are offering personal collections for sale via lottery; four well-known influencers (such as Z Zu Laoba, Pickled Cabbage Princess, etc.) are participating in an online pop-up market to drive traffic.

Musinsa executives said that this event has prepared multiple offers to help customers discover rare items at reasonable prices and experience sharing culture, and that it will continue to boost activity in the secondhand fashion market in the future. In the Asia-Pacific market, where secondhand clothing is fragmented and trust barriers remain high, this may provide a reference for large platforms to simultaneously validate the operational model of whole-bag collection.
