Vinted, the online platform focused on second-hand clothing trading, suffered a service disruption this Tuesday, with a large number of users reporting they could not access their accounts normally, affecting both buyers and sellers.
According to data from the outage monitoring site Downdetector, more than 5,000 problem reports were recorded during the incident. The issues users encountered included being forcibly logged out without taking any action and then being unable to log back in; some saw blank pages or error messages.
The impact of this outage covered various usage scenarios on the platform. Some buyers said the browsing and purchasing process was blocked; sellers also reported being unable to retrieve the postage labels or QR codes needed for shipping, preventing packages from being sent out on time, while others reported continuing to receive notification pushes even though they could not open the app normally.
Vinted is currently one of the most widely used platforms for buying and selling second-hand clothing and other items, so once a technical disruption occurs, everyone from consumers placing orders to sellers waiting to ship or receive goods is affected.
For second-hand sellers who rely on the platform's cash flow and shipping timeliness, this kind of downtime not only disrupts the day's fulfillment rhythm, but may also affect account operations and buyer reviews. The stability of resale platforms is increasingly becoming the infrastructure of this business.
