In July 2026, Xianyu partnered with old clothes recycling platform Dangdang Yixia to launch the "Old Clothes Recycling Fairy Tale Journey" campaign, tying old clothes drop-offs to a lottery for Shanghai Disneyland tickets and opening a new path for recycling platforms to acquire customers through traffic-rich platforms.
The rules are not complicated: from July 3 to July 8, users who place an order through the old clothes recycling entry in the Xianyu app and reach a single-order recycling weight of 10 kilograms or more automatically qualify for the lottery. Xianyu provides the entry point and traffic on the front end, while Dangdang Yixia handles door-to-door weighing, settlement, and fulfillment on the back end, so users can complete the entire process from placing an order to entering the lottery without switching between multiple platforms.
As a service provider positioned in "internet + green recycling," Dangdang Yixia mainly recycles old clothing, shoes and hats, and idle books. Its model moves traditional offline recycling online, focusing on one-click booking and free door-to-door pickup, connecting idle items piled up in urban households to the recycling supply chain. The platform currently offers 0.5 to 1.0 yuan per kilogram for old clothes recycling, and its door-to-door service already covers more than 400 cities nationwide.
The two partners' user profiles align closely: on one side are households that genuinely need to clear out clothes when seasons change, and on the other are people interested in experiential rewards such as theme park tickets. The 10-kilogram threshold is designed to be a level most families can reach by cleaning out a wardrobe once, which both controls the fulfillment cost per order and avoids deterring ordinary users.
From an industry perspective, this type of co-branded recycling is replicable in three ways: scarce perks stimulate orders more than simple cash rebates and more easily generate discussion on social platforms; traffic holders such as Xianyu can complete the loop on idle-item disposal without building their own logistics and sorting systems; and recycling service providers can use the platform to reach a broader user base, turning a door-to-door network covering more than 400 cities into scaled orders. Bundling routine recycling actions with brand campaigns and IP perks is becoming a viable way for old clothes recycling to boost user activity and order volume.
