An old clothes recycling charity campaign launched by a fan group recently went live on social media. Titled "Xiguang_Mao Buyi Old Clothes Recycling Charity · Phase One," the campaign was jointly launched by Mao Buyi's fan organization "Xiguang" and the old clothes recycling platform "Dangdang Yixia," with the theme "Old Clothes, Deep Affection; Unchanged Original Aspiration."

Unlike conventional celebrity fan support, this campaign centers on the old items themselves. The published recycling list covers old clothes, old bags, plush toys, shoes and boots, and idle books. The campaign copy frames the act as "what you let go of is clutter; what remains is warmth," and proposes that old items be used to "shield another child from the wind for a while."

Participation is set up in three steps: users search for the old clothes recycling platform "Dangdang Yixia" on WeChat, enter through the "Tap to Recycle Old Clothes" portal, select "Celebrity Campaigns," find the exclusive Xiguang_Mao Buyi campaign page to book a doorstep pickup, or scan the QR code on the campaign poster directly. According to the campaign description, a free doorstep pickup service is triggered once the recycled amount reaches 3 kilograms, and items are exchanged for brand-new supplies by weight.

To encourage participation, the organizers set up a lucky draw: 3 participants will be randomly selected from the donation list to receive a set of Xiguang's future fan support merchandise; another 2 will be drawn from users who interact under campaign-related Weibo posts, also receiving fan support merchandise. The campaign page also tagged singer Mao Buyi and the recycling platform "Dangdang Yixia."

The aforementioned 3-kilogram minimum threshold and the mechanism of converting items into supplies by weight are common operating parameters of current domestic online old clothes recycling platforms. The practice of celebrity fan groups exchanging fan support resources for idle textiles in residents' hands and channeling them into formal recycling channels offers a customer acquisition model for the community recycling end of secondhand clothing that leverages fan mobilization capacity.
