ink409">I. All-Road Land Transport
ink265">Chinese cities --- Xining --- Golmud --- Kunlun Mountains --- Tanggula Mountains --- Amdo --- Nagqu-Lhasa --- Shigatse --- Tingri --- Himalayas --- Nyalam --- Zhangmu/Gyirong --- Tatopani --- Kathmandu --- Pokhara.
The total transit time from Xining to Nepal is approximately 15 days.
(1) Xining---Tibet Zhangmu Port: transport time 4-5 days;
(2) Zhangmu Port:
Coordination and scheduling for Chinese and Nepalese vehicles entering customs: 1 day; transloading from Chinese vehicles to Nepalese vehicles: 1-2 days.
Zhangmu customs declaration and inspection: 2-3 days; Nepalese vehicles queuing downhill for customs exit: 2 days; total port stay: approximately 8 days.
(3) Nepal border customs: customs clearance 1 day.
(4) Zhangmu to Kathmandu, Nepal: total distance 120 km, transport time 1 day.

Road weight limits:
Xining to Zhangmu section uses 9.6m/approximately 15 tons/vehicle; single pieces generally do not exceed 7-8 tons, mainly limited by
the crane situation at Zhangmu Port.
At Zhangmu, vehicles must be switched to Nepalese vehicles; Nepalese vehicles generally have two weight tiers: 10 tons and 17 tons.
Meanwhile, a new weighbridge has been installed at the Chinese customs supervision yard, stipulating that vehicles over 12 tons are prohibited from leaving the yard; however,
with coordination, transport over 12 tons is currently not affected.
Weight limits: 10TON/20'GP, 15TON/40HQ. There are also restrictions on length and height. The safety factor is not high; choose this option if cargo value is low!

II. Sea-Land Combined Transport
Chinese ports --- Kolkata (India) --- Birgunj/Nepalgunj/Biratnagar (Nepal) --- project site (Nepal);

Transport mode: first leg by sea, subsequent leg by road or rail
Subsequent leg takes about 10 days
Weight limits: 18TON/20', 25TON/40HQ

(1) Sea + road transport:
Faster;
Note: India levies 0.15% of CIF value on goods transported overland in transit for Nepalese state-owned enterprises, government, diplomatic, etc.; rail transport is exempt.
(2) Sea + rail + road transport (only via Birgunj customs point):
Slower, especially waiting for train allocation in Kolkata takes 3-5 days;
For heavier containerized cargo, rail transport is suitable; overall transit time is 5-10 days longer than full trailer mode, but NTWC border tax is exempt. Of course, if under L/C terms, the terms must specify Nepal entry point as Birgunj ICD.

Sea-land combined transport via India, with strong agency networks in India and Nepal, has successfully completed transport services for embassy construction projects and multiple national aid projects.

Our company has its own branches at Zhangmu Port and in Kathmandu, handling customs clearance and transshipment throughout, and smoothly picking up containers! Greatly shortening the transport time for engineering project materials! Ensuring no delays in project construction!
