The fan charity project "Beyond the Halo" of the idol group TNT (Teens in Times) recently launched the first phase of its "Clothes of Love" campaign, partnering with the old clothes recycling platform "Dangdang Yixia" to collect old clothes nationwide.

The campaign calls on fans to donate idle old clothes, bags, plush toys, and shoes from their homes, offering one-click booking and free nationwide door-to-door pickup for donations of 3 kilograms or more, with no fees charged to participants throughout the process.

According to the organizers, after the collection period ends, the total recycled weight will be converted into stationery, extracurricular books, and sports equipment, which will be donated in the name of TNT and its "Beyond the Halo: Our Answer" project to Hongshaxian Primary School in Jingtai County, Gansu Province. The local Jiangwozigou rock paintings record traces of life from thousands of years ago through dense pecking marks, while the shoes of the children at the school are already worn and the plush toys they carry have been washed until faded—details that form the backdrop for choosing this location.

To encourage fan participation, the organizers have also set up an invitation mechanism: after booking, users who invite friends to complete a recycling donation can receive a free custom TNT-exclusive photo card, shipped to their door.

This model of collaboration between artist fan groups and professional recycling platforms opens up a new traffic channel for old clothes recycling. Whether the strong mobilization capacity of fan communities can be steadily converted into measurable recycling volumes, and how the conversion criteria from recycled weight to in-kind donations can be made transparent, are questions worth observing in similar projects going forward.
