Entering September, autumn new-product stocking in the Northern Hemisphere is accelerating, and foreign trade has entered the traditional "Golden September" shipping window. As a major domestic textile and apparel industry cluster, Qingdao's garment production lines are in full swing. Autumn apparel such as hoodies, knit jackets, and casual sets is being boxed, cleared through customs supervision, and shipped in bulk to retail terminals worldwide.

Seasonal shifts in demand are the direct driver of this shipping peak. As weather turns cooler overseas, foreign supermarkets and brand retailers are starting autumn/winter inventory stocking earlier, moving their procurement windows forward and driving a significant increase in shipments from garment manufacturers.

Feedback from companies shows that autumn apparel orders feature short lead times, many batches, and small batch sizes, placing higher demands on customs clearance efficiency and logistics turnover speed. Qingdao Yijiu Garment Co., Ltd. focuses on knit casual apparel, with men's and women's hoodies, knit jackets, casual sets, and athletic wear as its main categories, sold to Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. In the first eight months of this year, the company exported 1.05 million yuan worth of autumn apparel, with growth particularly notable in the past two months.

Facing concentrated delivery pressure during peak season, Qingdao Dagang Customs under Qingdao Customs has proactively connected with enterprises based on local industry characteristics, assessed customs clearance needs, and implemented facilitation measures such as advance declaration and appointment-based customs clearance to help enterprises fulfill contracts on schedule. At the same time, the customs office regularly issues technical trade measure alerts and risk warnings and organizes compliance training focused on textile safety standards in the EU, Japan, and South Korea, guiding enterprises to control product quality and safety and reduce export risks.

For Qingdao garment enterprises, stable and efficient customs clearance directly affects delivery credibility and customer relationships. Some companies view it as an important condition for retaining existing customers and expanding new channels. A responsible person from Qingdao Dagang Customs stated that next steps will focus on peak-season export demand in the textile and apparel industry and implement trade facilitation reform measures. The alignment between the above peak-season shipping momentum and customs supporting services provides a reference sample for other textile and apparel export clusters in coping with concentrated autumn/winter order periods.
