On the afternoon of August 18, the European second-hand clothing trading platform Vinted experienced a technical outage of about one and a half hours in the UK, with many users reporting they were unable to log into the app or view orders.

According to data from the outage monitoring website Downdetector, the problem began to surge around 3 PM GMT (10:44 AM Eastern Time), covering multiple UK cities including London, Birmingham, and Leeds. Of all outage reports, 67% were related to the mobile app, 26% involved login, and another 6% pointed to the web version.

One user commented, "Can't log in!!" Another user said, "Can't see any orders (whether buying or selling), the page keeps showing 'something went wrong,'" while another complained, "Can't log in, keeps asking for login information but nothing happens."

Vinted later confirmed to local media that the platform did indeed "experience a brief technical issue" that day, but it has now been fully resolved. The specific cause of the outage and the number of affected users have not been disclosed.

In this incident, after monitoring user-submitted data and social media feedback, the Downdetector platform displayed the affected areas and service status in the form of a real-time alert map, helping the public quickly understand the large-scale outage. Vinted has not yet commented on the impact of the incident on transactions. Users who have recently experienced delays in order processing may wish to keep an eye on official channel announcements.
