Swedish textile fibre recycling company Circulose is strengthening its management team. The company announced via LinkedIn that Andreas Dorner has joined as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), where he will be responsible for developing global markets for Circulose's pulp products made from textile waste.
Circulose CEO Jonatan Janmark commented that Dorner has world-class experience in both MMCF (man-made cellulosic fibres) and textile recycling, a combination that is rarely seen.
Dorner's career record is consistent with this assessment. He worked at Austrian fibre producer Lenzing for about 15 years, holding senior positions in international sales and marketing, and says he helped drive the development of Lenzing's Refibra technology, which blends cotton waste with wood pulp to produce lyocell fibre. He then spent nearly three years as general manager at Re&Up Recycling Technologies, part of Turkish textile group Sanko, focusing on the industrialisation of fibre-to-fibre recycling.
The appointment comes as Circulose prepares to restart its large plant in Ortviken on Sweden's east coast. The plant has an annual textile waste processing capacity of up to 60,000 tonnes and is scheduled to resume production in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Circulose's business strategy shifted after investment firm Altor acquired the assets of its bankrupt predecessor Renewcell. Offtake commitments from fashion brands including H&M, Mango and C&A will support the ramp-up of capacity. In June this year, the company also announced partnerships with Eileen Fisher, Marimekko, Samsøe Samsøe and King Louie.
From an industry perspective, Circulose's restart timeline and the new CCO's global market development mandate complement each other, reflecting how the textile-waste-to-pulp sector is attempting to close the commercial loop from production capacity to brand orders after capital restructuring.
