Dongguan's Humen Town is advancing "zero-waste city" construction through the green transformation of its garment industry. Three-Tier Recycling Network and "Internet + Recycling"

Humen Town has built a three-tier recycling network of "enterprises - recycling points - utilization centers," relying on the "Internet + recycling" model to achieve convenient recycling and centralized disposal of waste fabrics. After sorting, cleaning and disinfection, the recycled materials are used for donation, export or regeneration. In addition to being made into RDF alternative fuel, garment scraps are also processed into mops, industrial wiping cloths, building filling materials, automotive soundproof cotton and other products.

Dual-Track Advancement of Policy and Service Platforms

Humen Town has established a dual-track mechanism of "policy guidance + service support," issuing the Guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility Construction in Key Industries and setting up a special fund for green transformation. It has introduced pro-enterprise policies such as the Several Measures of Humen Town to Support Textile and Garment Enterprises in Achieving Upgraded Development and Growth (Trial), promoting intelligent and green transformation of the garment industry. At the 2024 World Garment Conference, Humen participated in discussions on global sustainable trade and green new deal issues under the theme of "Green Innovation, Co-creating a Sustainable Future."

Digital Transformation Reduces Source Waste

On the production side, Humen promotes intelligent cutting systems and digital layout technology to improve fabric utilization and reduce fabric waste at the source. Enterprises such as Yichun, Tingyuxuan and Yizhen Yixian took the lead in implementing digital transformation. Among them, the digital project of Yizhen Yixian (Dongguan) Garment Co., Ltd. was selected as a "2023 China 5G + Industrial Internet Conference Industry Typical Application Case" and included in the Directory of Digital Transformation Units of China National Textile and Apparel Council. In e-commerce and warehousing logistics, intelligent packaging systems are promoted to achieve precise matching of packaging materials.

Environmental Education Activities

For two consecutive years, Humen Town has joined multiple departments in holding "Turning Waste into Treasure" environmental fashion shows at Dongguan Textile and Garment School, Meisha Primary School and other schools, encouraging teachers and students to design and make eco-friendly fashion from express packaging, plastic bags, old newspapers and other waste materials, promoting low-carbon concepts into daily life.
