Korean fashion e-commerce platform Musinsa (무신사) has announced that it will terminate its limited-edition marketplace Soldout (솔드아웃) on December 31, 2026, concentrating its fashion recommerce (i.e., secondhand resale) business on the Musinsa USED (무신사 유즈드) platform. The decision stems from the shrinking scale of C2C trading of limited-edition goods between individuals, while Musinsa USED, a secondhand fashion trading service launched only in August 2025, is growing rapidly.

Key Points

  • Musinsa announced that Soldout will end service on December 31, 2026, with recommerce functions consolidated into Musinsa USED
  • Musinsa USED launched in August 2025 and will take over Soldout's C2C operations and management expertise after the integration
  • Existing Soldout operations staff will remain employed within platform and recommerce-related organizations and will continue providing customer support to existing customers and partners

Musinsa USED is a service embedded in the Musinsa app through which anyone can relatively easily buy and sell secondhand fashion items. Musinsa had previously absorbed Soldout's operating subsidiary SLDT (에스엘디티). One immediate purpose of this merger is to transfer the experience Soldout accumulated in C2C service operations and management to Musinsa USED, thereby expanding tradable categories from Korean domestic designer brands to limited-edition goods from overseas brands.

Regarding personnel and customer arrangements, for the members who previously handled Soldout operations, the company said it will study ways to keep them in platform and recommerce business organizations, taking into account their professional capabilities and career development prospects; even after Soldout's service shuts down, it will continue to provide responses and support to customers who used the service as well as to partners.

Strategically, Musinsa plans to expand secondhand fashion trading centered on Musinsa USED and to promote a circular economy through the resale and reuse of goods. A company official said that the recommerce service Musinsa USED, launched last August, has recently been growing rapidly, and therefore the company decided to move beyond trading a small number of items centered on limited editions and instead make a strategic choice in line with the circular economy trend of "creating new value through secondhand goods," seeking sustained growth through selection and concentration in the recommerce sector.
