Kolon Industries FnC (Kolon FnC) held "OLO Relay Day," a voluntary employee resource circulation event, from October 30 to 31 at its headquarters in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, collecting about 150 secondhand clothing items from its own brands over the two days.

Key Points

  • The event was held from October 30 to 31, 2024, at Kolon FnC's headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul, mobilizing employees to submit old clothes from the company's own brands.
  • About 150 items were collected on site from brands including Kolon Sport, recode, le cashmere, and Archive Apprk.
  • The event is part of "OLO Relay Market," a brand secondhand trading platform Kolon FnC has operated since 2022, with secondhand market solution company Madeleine Memory participating in its planning.

An Extension of the Brand's Own Secondhand Platform

"OLO Relay Market" is a platform built by Kolon FnC to revitalize secondhand trading of its brands, launched in 2022 in partnership with secondhand market solution company Madeleine Memory. The platform works by collecting products from brands such as Kolon Sport and Lucky Chouette, re-commercializing them, and selling them at reasonable prices; sellers who give up their items receive OLO points that can be used to buy new products on Kolon Mall. This "OLO Relay Day" was an internal resource circulation campaign co-planned with Madeleine Memory.

Collection and Circulation Mechanism

Employees submitted old clothes through either advance registration or on-site registration, covering brands such as Kolon Sport, recode, le cashmere, and Archive Apprk. The clothing collected on site will undergo strict inspection: items judged resalable are compensated with equivalent OLO points, while those difficult to resell are returned to the employees themselves. When staff members attended and interacted as part of the event gifts, participating employees received prizes prepared by brands such as recode, le cashmere, and Epigram. Kolon FnC said the event was intended to spread the importance of resource reuse to all employees and strengthen its ESG management practices.

ESG Actions Beyond This

In addition to secondhand trading activities, Kolon FnC is also pursuing diverse internal ESG initiatives. For example, recognizing the need to reduce single-use items, the company introduced reusable cups at its internal cafe starting last October, reducing the use of about 6,000 disposable cups per month.
