ReHubs, the European textile recycling value chain initiative, has announced the appointment of Béatrice Moureaux as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Robert van de Kerkhof, who had been serving in an interim capacity. Moureaux has been a member of the ReHubs board since December 2025 and brings over 25 years of experience in technical textiles, advanced fibers, and nonwovens. van de Kerkhof will continue to support the organization as Chairman of the Board.
Key Points
- Béatrice Moureaux was appointed CEO of ReHubs in October 2026, succeeding interim leader Robert van de Kerkhof, who remains Chairman of the Board.
- ReHubs' industrial goal is to recycle 2.7 million tonnes of textile waste in Europe by 2035.
- The organization has been supported by a new board since July 2025 and is building on an action plan developed in September 2025 in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group.
The appointment comes against the backdrop of a supply-demand imbalance in Europe's circular economy market. ReHubs says the new leadership's immediate priorities are to reassure recyclers—who need clear demand guarantees before committing to investment—while also securing the supply of recycled fibers that brands are demanding.
In her appointment statement, Moureaux said she is proud to take on the role of CEO at this critical moment for ReHubs and the entire industry, and that the road ahead is full of challenges. Breaking the supply-demand deadlock and scaling up textile-to-textile recycling in Europe will require a willingness to collaborate across the entire value chain and favorable investment conditions.
ReHubs has been led by a new board since July 2025, with its work built on an action plan developed in September 2025 in partnership with Boston Consulting Group. The document focuses on the economics of recycling and the conditions needed to attract industrial capital to Europe. The logic of the model is that sorting technology alone is not enough to build a complete circular ecosystem—targeted interventions are also needed to cultivate a viable market.
Véronique Allaire Spitzer, a representative of French eco-organization Refashion, said Europe is at a turning point for textile circularity, and that extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a powerful lever for turning ambition into action, but its success depends on practical solutions and close collaboration across the entire value chain.
The ReHubs alliance brings together players from recycling to spinning, from fabric manufacturers to brands, with the goal of preventing textiles from being incinerated or landfilled. The organization has set a clear industrial target: recycling 2.7 million tonnes of textile waste in Europe by 2035.
