The annual "Recycle for Rewards" event in Lukang Township, Changhua County will be held at 9 AM on the 9th at the Lukang Township Office Plaza. Since Lukang Township does not have old clothes recycling bins, this event includes old clothes in the exchange program. Residents can bring 10 old clothes to exchange for face masks, and the more old clothes they bring, the more items they can choose from.

Key Points

  • Event time: From 9 AM on the 9th, at Lukang Township Office Plaza
  • Exchange threshold: 10 old clothes for a face mask
  • Background: Lukang Township has no old clothes recycling bins, so the event serves as a recycling channel for old clothes

Lukang Township Office Plaza will be the main venue for this event. As in previous years, residents can bring idle old clothes from home to participate in the exchange. Due to the lack of permanent old clothes recycling bins in the township, this annual event has become an important channel for local old clothes diversion.

Regarding the exchange rules, 10 old clothes correspond to one face mask; if more old clothes are brought, the variety of exchange items available will also increase accordingly. The event organizers hope to encourage residents to clear out clothes they no longer wear through tangible rewards.

From an industry perspective, such recycling exchange events organized at the township level reflect that in communities lacking regular recycling facilities, short-term concentrated recycling remains one of the main methods of old clothes collection.
